Jamie James new solo album Straight Up is out now via Oglio Records.
Jamie’s a true rock & roll survivor—founder of early-‘80s rockabilly trio The Kingbees (“My Mistake”), longtime sideman to Harry Dean Stanton, and co-founder of Dennis Quaid & The Sharks. Now, at 71, he’s channeling decades of grit, heartbreak, and swagger into a new collection of songs that pull no punches.

There’s a new video out now for the single “Show Biz Boogie”—a tongue-in-cheek, bluesy blast that takes aim at the glitzy burnout of entertainment culture. He’s got stories for days (including how he sold his ’60 Les Paul to fund his first band), and he’s still got a fire in his voice and twang in his guitar.

New Album: Straight Up

  • Cut live in one day with Tom Walsh, Ken Stange & Tom Mancillas to capture raw spontaneity
